The Machines are finally there!
We are excited to announce that the machines (The diesel-driven wheat mill and the plough) have finally arrived in Djalingo!
We have been in close contact with the chief of Djalingo and he has told us that the whole community is elated and has decided to organise a celebration where they will be officially presented with the machines. This we also thought was a great idea, since it gives every member of this small community a sense of responsibility towards the machines and would help see to it that they are well managed. The celebration and official presentation of the machines are expected to be in the next two to three weeks and we certainly will be delighted to upload some pictures of it as soon as we get them.
We want to say a very big thank you to all those who have helped make this happen to the people of Djalingo. It sure did cost a good sum of money but with your help it is now a reallity. We at Mount Carmel are happy to see how things are gradually taking shape and also to see the impact that all this is having on the lives of the people. We sure will keep you informed of each step of the way.
