Wir freuen uns sehr über die neusten Entwicklungen des Schulprojekts. Die Dinge werden allmählich konkreter.
Unsere erste Absicht bestand darin, den Lehrer zu unterstützen, der bis dahin freiwillig in der Schule gearbeitet hatte. Das Ziel war - und ist nach wie vor - die Schule in Djalingo zu erhalten. Dank unserer Sponsoren, waren wir in der Lage, dem Lehrer ein monatliches Gehalt von € 25 zuzusichern. Das Geld wird in Meiganga aufbewahrt und ihm regelmäßig übergeben.
Ein Hauptproblem des Lehrers bestand bisher auch darin, den beschwerlichen Schulweg Tag für Tag zu bewältigen - er lebt im Nachbardorf, das ca. eine Stunde Fußmarsch von Djalingo entfernt ist. Um ihm diesen zu erleichtern, konnten wir ihm ein Fahrrad kaufen. Das Fahrrad soll, zusammen mit den Maschinen, während der Zeremonie überreicht überrecht werden, die von den Dorfbewohnern gerade organisiert wird. Das alles ist natürlich eine riesen Motivation für den Lehrer, also mit anderen Worten, ein frischer Wind für die alte Grundschule in Djalingo.
Unser Ziel bleibt weiterhin, die Schule wieder auf die Beine zu stellen. Wir wollen sicher gehen, dass die Kinder von Djalingo eine gute Schulbildung erfahren, was unbedingt notwendig ist, damit sie später die Chance haben, ihr Leben selbst zu gestalten.
All diese Dinge sind kleine Schritte in Richtung der Vision von Mount Carmel - den Menschen Hoffnung zu geben. Wir wollen noch einmal allen herzlich danken, die uns auf irgendeine Art und Weise unterstützt haben. Ohne Euch wäre das alles nicht möglich gewesen.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface.
