Eine dieselbetriebene Getreidemühle
Eins der Hauptnahrungsmittel in Kamerun ist Couscous, ein fester Brei, der aus Manjok- oder Maismehl angerührt wird. Die Frauen zerkleinern dafür in mühlevoller Arbeit den Mais entweder von Hand oder bringen ihn in die nächst größere Stadt, wo sie ihn mahlen lassen können. Das ist sehr zeitaufwendig und kostet Geld, was die meisten von ihnen nicht haben. Ob die Familie an diesem Tag etwas essen wird ist dann zusätzlich abhängig, ob in Meiganga gerade der Strom fliest oder wie so oft ausgefallen ist. Wir wünschen uns, dass die Anschaffung einer Mühle die Ernährung der Familien in Djalingo besser gewährleistet und die Arbeit erleichtert wird. Wir hoffen auch, dass die Frauen durch den Verkauf von überschüssigem Mehl ihr Einkommen ein wenig aufbessern können.
Ein Pflug
Die Einwohner des Dorfes sind auf ihre eigene Landwirtschaft angewiesen. Die Anschaffung eines einfachen Pfluges, der an einen Ochsen gespannt wird, soll die Arbeit um einiges erleichtern. Die Dorfgemeinschaft erhofft sich dadurch auch, größere Flächen bebauen zu können und somit mehr als für den Eigenbedarf zu ernten.
Sowohl die Mühle, als auch der Pflug sollen vom König des Dorfes verwaltet werden und für alle Dorfbewohner zur freien Verfügung stehen.
Die Schule und der Lehrer
Vor ungefähr 40 Jahren hatte der Staat eine Grundschule für Djalingo vorgesehen. Von dem, was ursprünglich gesendet wurde, kam nach allen Instanzen letztendlich gerade soviel an, dass ein Raum gebaut werden konnte. Nachdem viele Jahre 4 Grundschulklassen von einem Lehrer ehrenamtlich unterrichtet wurden, wuchs die Zahl in den letzten beiden Jahren soweit an, dass sich die Klassenzahl auf 5 erhöht hat. Aus diesem Grund wurde vom Staat ein weiterer (bezahlter) Lehrer geschickt. Der erste Lehrer bleibt weiterhin unbezahlt.
Da weiterhin nur ein Raum zur Verfügung steht, teilen sich die Lehrer auf verschiedene Tage auf.
Um die Schule zu erhalten möchten wir dem Lehrer monatlich 25 € zukommen lassen, damit er den Unterricht fortsetzen kann. Das Gebäude selbst zu erneuern ist erst sinnvoll, wenn man die Arbeiten vor Ort überwacht. Deshalb planen wir die Renovierung und den Anbau neuer Räume für ca. 2010.
